http://www.tesat.or.kr/ TESAT (Test of Economic Sense and Thinking) is a test to evaluate one's knowledge and comprehension on market economy in Korea. It's hosted by the Korean economy newspaper 한국경제신문 and acknowledged by many companies in South Korea.

The first exam was in November 2008 and since then it is held four times a year (February, May, August and November).

The exam is divided in three parts: one for economy theory, one for actual economy (management) and a third one for deduction and thinking. (Of course I don't know the official English names for it. I roughly translated from the Korean. I hope I can post it below)

You have a total time of 1h40min to do the exam. You have to arrive the test place until 9:30 am and it starts at 10 am.

It Has 80 Questions for a total of 300 points (100 per each part).

There are six grades depending on the points you have. You need to have a minimum of 149 points for the exam to be recognized with 5th grade, the lowest grade. Below 149 points is basically failing the exam. Here is a list of what each grade represents. (in Korean)

For the beginning, I plan to use mainly this two books for studying. And of course online material which I will share the source if I use.

My plan is to get something higher then 3rd grade in two years. But I don't have any idea of the actual difficulty of the exam so I will take it this February just to get some experience. But I can't get my hopes too high. It's in Korean and I take too long just to read and understand the questions. Plus I have no basic knowledge of economy at all. That's one of the main reasons for making this blog, because I want to be sure that I manage to understand and remember something after. Well, D-48 to the exam, so let's start this.
